Renting a flat
Renting a nice flat/house can be a big adventure, specially nowadays.
Some useful concepts you can use when asking for or describing a flat/house:
Terraced, semi-detached, furnished, drafty, W/D, double glazing, open plan, separate WC, exc. bills, lift, damp, leaky, run down, no off street parking.
Examples
We found a very nice house in the outskirts of the city.
It was a detached house, with lots of plants in the garden.
The house was totally furnished on a very nowadays style. We loved it!
There was no lift, but we don’t mind because it was a first floor.
Two days after moving, we discovered the small bathroom was completely run down.
The toilet is leaky and we need to fix it.
But we are really happy to be here, we are going to spend a long time in this house!
